Blackjack

All players begin by placing their bets. Each person, including the dealer, will then be dealt two cards. The player’s cards are dealt face up, while the dealer receives one card face up and the second card face down (hole card). Each person plays individually, comparing the value of his cards against the value of the dealer’s cards.

If a player’s first two cards are an Ace and a 10-value card (K, Q, J, 10) he has blackjack and is paid 3:2, unless the dealer also has blackjack. If a player does not have blackjack, he can take extra cards (or hits) to get as close to 21 without going over. Should a player go over 21, he has gone “bust” or lost.
